The martial arts develop a positive attitude and an open mind. These are some of the reasons that the martial arts are 90% mental.

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN SELECTING A MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL?
Two of the essential items to look for are discipline and respect. Without these two elements you cannot have the proper atmosphere conducive to learning or teaching. There should be no less than 15 minutes of warm-up exercises, not to exceed 30 minutes. Too much time spent on exercises may dictate the lack of knowledge on the instructor's part. By doing kicks, blocks, and punches you are, in fact, exercising. There should be no requirement to sign any type of financial contract for a long period of time with the school. Contracts do not benefit the student in any way. What happens if the school goes out of business or the student gets sick or has to move out of the area?

A person that cannot cope mentally usually resorts to physical violence. Think about this statement.
CAN PHYSICALLY INCONVENIENCED PERSONS LEARN MARTIAL ARTS?
Why not? Of course, every handicap can be overcome with patience from the student and instructor. Some people think age is a handicap. It can be only if the person wants it to be.
